Xfce 4.12 packages for Fedora 22

Beta freeze is upon us for Fedora 22 (tomorrow). For those already running Fedora 22, take some time to test Xfce 4.12 on Fedora 22 and report any bugs that you encounter.  Hopefully, we can solve all issues before F22 final release .. Happy testing!

xfdashboard behavior in Fedora 22

Since Fedora 22 has clutter-1.21, xfdashboard does not launch as before. A small workaround is needed to launch xfdashboard in Fedora 22 [1]. Here it is, $ CLUTTER_BACKEND=x11 xfdashboard This has already been reported and the workaround is from upstream report. [1] https://github.com/gmc-holle/xfdashboard/issues/73

Xfce 4.12 COPR availbale for Fedora 20 and 21

A COPR repo for Xfce 4.12 is now ready for Fedora 21 and 20. The link to the COPR repo is https://copr.fedoraproject.org/coprs/nonamedotc/xfce412/ If you are one of those using dnf on Fedora 21, the repo can be enabled using dnf copr enable nonamedotc/xfce412 Alternatively, visit the link above and download the .repo file and add it to /etc/yum.repos.d . New package : xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin is a new panel plugin that is available in this repo. Important:    If you have my xfce411 COPR repo enabled, disable it. That repo will go away very soon.     xfce4-mixer in xfce411 COPR repo is version 4.11 whereas one in xfce412 repo is xfce4-mixer-4.10.x. This might need uninstalling the 4.11 version followed by installing the older version from 412 repo. Please report all bug reports related to packages in this COPR repo directly to me. Please do NOT bugzilla for these packages. Alternatively, use Fedoraforums (this link) - http://forums.fedoraforum.org

Xfce 4.12 available in Fedora Rawhide

The awesome Xfce DE had a stable release yesterday. Version 4.12 . Xfce 4.12 is now available in Fedora Rawhide. All the core packages and most of the plugins are now built and ready to be tested. Ideally, they should land in tonight's rawhide live images. If there are no show stoppers, we will build the packages for Fedora 22 the coming week and see if we can get the change approved in time. One bug we are already aware of is with respect to mousepad (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1197504). Other than this, nothing seems broken (at least as far as I can tell). Give Xfce 4.12 a spin on Rawhide. The more testing we get, the better it would be for stable releases.
